Episode 6: Stuck in an endless loop
His life is on the edge. And he's very old… he’s not strong enough to get this feeling. All the time he’s thinking, what's going to happen tomorrow?
One family. All devout pacifists, they all fled the same dangers and all of them are recognised refugees in Australia. The wife and mother, and her children were resettled from overseas and now have permanent protection. But their husband and father arrived by boat. He lives in anxious uncertainty, enduring an opaque re-application process that could result in his being torn away from them.
The voices in Temporary come alive in longform journalism – vividly illustrated by photographers and artists who themselves are refugees and people seeking asylum – on a series hub produced by UNSW’s Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law.
